PESVEBI TO DANCE AT THE MILLENNIUM THEATER ON FRIDAY NIGHT JUNE 8, 2012

June 6th, 2012 · No Comments · theater

Pesvebi means “Roots” in Kartuli (Georgian). The former Soviet Republic is known for being a Christian country in a muslim part of the world. It has ancient churches, the perhaps the best wine and arguably the most beautiful women and the fiercest men. All these elements come together in the proud production that is Pesvebi.

Vano Goderdzishvili and Shorena Barbakadze’s Pesvebi Georgian Dance Ensemble is rapidly becoming an institution in the Georgian and Russian Communities here in New York City. Originally from Tbilisi and known for their exquisite and ornate productions, their staging and renditions of songs from the traditional to the modern will take your breath away. They start them early and you will marvel at the toddlers while the music puts a chill down the center of your body. A DO NOT MISS!

PESVEBI gets better and better ever year so you can only imagine what they have in store for you this year. Catch this show before it’s $100 a ticket and a six month wait. Georgian Dance at it’s finest and one of the best Dance Troops you will see Off-Broadway.
