ORIGINAL VERSION OF EUROPA STILL HOLDS UP – STORY, WORDS AND MUSIC BY BRIAN MCLANE

March 8th, 2012 · No Comments · theater

In pre-production for and still casting the new film Outpost Budapest (working title), which is loosely based on Casablanca – just in space. There are some cool reversals and twists and in doing some research on the songs and listening to Dave Penn’s incredible original score, I remembered how much fun we had doing this production. With help from dozens of people including T. Motts, Bad Hotel, Mike Farr and most notably, directed by Richard Darrigo – this was a blast.

Starring Christopher Robert Smith and Makenzie Caine. Music by Brian McLane, Multimedia by Donald O’Finn and score by Dave Penn. Click on the image below to be taken to my “gasp” MYSPACE page ha ha! You can see the original production from The Collective Unconscious cut up into ten episodes. Special Guest Star – The Vic Thrill Cult.

Start with episode one. The great thing about this was that we were able to stream the performance live to most phones (except on the Verizon Network) – and were technologically (and perhaps still) way ahead of our theatrical time. Check out this blast from the past.
