Europa is a sold out smash.

Europa Comedy a Sold Out Smash

At the fourth performance of Europa they were dancing in the aisles, literally. While I am unsure if we accidentally oversold the show or if scattered seats were being unused, one thing was for sure… the show had sold out. The only performance that had a few seats left over was the Tuesday show – there were like four or five seats. But we even sold out the Monday night show (Passover).

In my opinion, the Tuesday show was the best and got the most laughs with lots of spontaneous improvisations from cast members (namely the Twins Margo and Verify portrayed by Linnea Larsdotter and Christina Saragaglia), that drew sustained howls at one point leaving Stenzo (portrayed by Andre Softeland), unable to finish his song Android.

Wednesday had all the raw energy of the first performance but the lighting scheme was far more together as the abundance of colors set the varying degree of moods on the ice moon.

In the end the was a standing ovation and the cast went out to the terrestrial equivalent of Rocky’s “Bunga Den” on West 14th Street.

Now there is a temporary break for the cast and crew while discussions are taking place as to what’s next for the troupe. One thing is certain, we are all new friends and connected to eachother by this wonderful production and tale about a group of wayward characters way out in the icy cold of space.
