There are some exciting developments with respect to restaurants that AT&T hopes will further elevate’s street cred as a lifestyle portal on the web.

Using a combination of listings, ratings, location-based and deal of the day offerings, is starting to become socially relevant. And then there’s the phones.

Groupon has the coupons – which have brought in new customers for businesses if not profits.
Living Social is about mini adventures which if you’re single or don’t have kids is cool I suppose.
Google is synonymous with search – all search. I mean every global search from what is the state bird of New York to what’s the latest in Iran.
Facebook is THE community site.

And YP is steadily becoming THE Lifestyle and Business Search portal. Now with articles, a news and information element has been added. And there again are the phones.

In 2010, 14 percent of all internet search was on mobile. Last year it doubled. You can order flowers, make reservations, get directions, click to call, Facebook and tweet all from the YP Mobile App. Birth, School, Work, Death it may not be…. yet.

When you’re talking about streamlining your busy life, this is one destination that you want on your handset.

Here’s the GODFATHERS live early 1990 with Birth, School, Work, Death (original line-up).
