Here I am with my daughter on her first day in School. She loved the colors. All the teachers, Principal, Asst. Principal and staff said they couldn’t wait to get their hands on her.

It’s not just about about what kids are learning in the classroom but the platforms they’re learning on. My fifth grader’s homework takes hours. Granted he’s overcoming a language barrier too but I took the LSAT’s I can’t even understand some of these questions. How do you explain long division? You do it and know it because it’s like riding a bike. When it comes to learning about the 7 wonders of the ancient world, all important yes – but most likely you’ll see that on Globetrekker. Am I smarter than a 5th Grader. Not necessarily. But Jeff Foxworthy isn’t either.

I’m starting to think that surfing the web is probably going to be the best teacher for our daughter because her natural curiosity will lead her to learn. I took logic, constitutional law and physics but do I use them? Well, at least little Sofia has all the pretty colors to look forward to first.

Here’s a link that is worth looking at The New Ecology of Learning
