From time to time I allow a guest blog on my site or in this case, relate a recent communication that has come my way which I feel is of interest to my readers.

Convergence really excites me and these guys are at the forefront of it.

Firstly, a very Happy New Year. I hope 2013 is fun filled and exciting for you.

It’s certainly starting that way for me. Today, I am launching GameStick; an affordable, pocket sized TV games console that will enable users to play their favourite Android games on the big screen. Packed with great games and costing only $79 we think GameStick is an important step to disrupting the status quo of the current console market, a sector as ripe for change now as the music industry was 10 years ago. We have spent a little over a year developing this product and I hope you agree that it looks great. Its quite a feat of engineering too.

I am launching this venture on Kickstarter which, for those of you who don’t know, is a crowd-funding platform that allows you to pledge money against a set of offers. We are looking to raise as much as possible from friends, family and associates to bring this project to life and produce the first run of GameSticks. People can support us with a pledge of as little as $10 all the way up to $10K. We have set ourselves a minimum target of $100k and it’s an all or nothing campaign, so if we raise less than $100k we’ll hand the money back.

Have a look at the project by clicking here and if you like it, I would really appreciate your support. Please also forward this to anyone who you think might be interested. We want to gain as much momentum as possible in the first few days so if you are interested in supporting us please do so as soon as possible.

Its rare in life that an opportunity to change an industry comes along. I hope you’ll join us in trying. We will be live on Kickstarter for 30 days.

Hope to see you soon.
