Everyone who reads this blog knows that I’m a big proponent of things like mobile content, participatory information gathering, citizen journalism and so on. There’s one thing though that needs to be distinguished. That there’s a big difference between DATA and FACTS.

iProgram for Data and Content

So here we are with the single most important and useful piece of technology to come along since probably the TV. Now we can capture video, pictures and email or blog from our phones, and report, share and contribute. Sure it enables Marketers to target, upload and push out video to those mobile phone users who have requested to see content tailored to their specific and exclusive tastes. And of course, can deliver your media to your audience wherever and whenever they want to see it (especially now with the capabilities for live streaming to iPhones and Berrys – see previous post re Oscars).

Check out CNN’s capabilities – they’re getting quite impressive. So it should be too long before someone comes up with the idea for a program based totally on “ireports” from the field. We can then call that an “iProgram.” You can line up for the trademark now.
