Government Spying in NYC

My WIFI has been cut from full strength to 2/3. There is a constant echo on my home phone. My Google Chrome is meandering at a fast crawl – and not just mine either. What did they get like 10,000 requests for information since this program started? And did they oblige on all? Microsoft, Yahoo, Facebook, Verizon all saying no, no, no – but I think we have to seriously consider how many times we’ve been lied to by banks, insurance companies….

No need to go there. It’s almost comical.

In light of the recent disclosures by Eric Snowden, I am seriously starting to wonder if it’s just a given now that we’re being watched, filmed and spyed on. Even the “if you see something say something” campaign has gone to a different level. No this isn’t East Germany but the Stasi seems to be alive and well.

Speaking of the TSA, I recently went through the scanners (as did my camera, drives and laptop) at JFK and when I took out my laptop on the plane, I realized my external drive had failed where it had been working fine earlier that day. It was something to see the TSA Supervisor immediately and unequivally dismiss even the possibility that the TSA equipment had ruined my LACIE drive.

NOTE: NEVER – EVER EVER – Get a LACIE DRIVE. I’ve had 5 of them fail.

Whether you think Snowden was a Patriot or a conspiracy theorist (or somewhere in between), I don’t believe in coincidences. Not after being in the middle of 9/11.

Recently Head Coach Pete Carroll of the NFL Seattle Seahawks grilled a four star army general about 9/11. Anyone who has read my account of that day (see previous post on 10 year anniversary) knows how I feel. Then we just had the Boston Bombings…. just what is afoot?

I have nothing to hide so I don’t care from the perspective of privacy. Rather from that of convenience. Uncle Sam, you’re slowing me down and cramping my style.

My life goes on, and it’s not like I even mind – it’s the hypocracy, subterfuge and secrecy I can do without. Just come out and say it. If you want a phone, want to surf the web, use free sites like Facebook or platforms like Gmail, we can spy on you. End of story.
