GOOGLE STREET VIEW CATCHES PEOPLE NAKED

September 12th, 2011 · No Comments · Technology

Okay, I’m not okay with this. I found it on the DrudgeReport.com.

Google Street View has photographed a naked Florida woman standing outside her home. The unidentified woman, is seen standing on her front porch with a bottle of what looks like water apparently shielding her face from the camera.

First you might ask, what is she doing walking outside naked.

That however is not the first question I’m asking?

Maps are one thing. Since when did the citizenry give permission to Google to photograph every square inch of public space. What I’m thinking is that Google and the Government are the same thing?

I’ve blogged before about Google encroaching on our civil liberties. On the one hand it’s great when criminals are caught or the perpetrators of violence recorded. It’s proper when other individuals with mobile phones record and turn video into the authorities. It’s not okay when people with video recorders are part of the mischief, violence or worse.

But street cameras…. where, and HOW do we draw the line. Just not sure I have an answer for this.
