What to do about the Aging Yankees?

I said it before and it bears repeating.

Before one thinks to put down their money for Yankees season tickets, they need to embrace that there are no titles in the near future for this ball club.

While Derek Jeter is a marvel (216 hits to lead the majors) and an icon, Management it seems is giving him just enough team to be competitive. However the front office, now feeling the the wrath of Scott Boras, has declined to pursue any more mega deals (and rightly so.

At least out of A Rod will come the Home Run Title back to New York, small asterisk though there may be. But look for more lightning in a bottle type signings like Ichiro Suzuki, Raul Ibanez and Hideki Kuroda for one year.

Will it be enough pitching? Depends on Pineda coming back and Ivan Nova righting his ship. Hitting? The Yanks have to get Josh Hamilton or another marquee run if they want to make a run.

Then again don’t they say these things every year?
