The pros and cons of criminal minds

My wife is on a Criminal Minds dumb out. Look at her sitting there glued to the set biting her thumb…

Like my son who can watch Spongebob for hours, my daughter who can watch Arthur or myself who can’t get enough of Rick Steves, my wife has finally found a show that she will tune out everybody and everything for.

Criminal Minds. And I’m trying not to get sucked in…. But.

With Mandy Patinkin and Joe Mantegna leading the cast in different seasons it’s hard not to.

I was interested in serial killers since the movies Henry and Silence of the lambs. Seems like Serial Killers have gone mainstream.

The writing is formulaic. You know the good guys are going to get the evil White Male with 5 minutes left in the show. But it is also imaginative and you wonder how the writers are able to recycle elements from other fictional or true crime movies or shows from the past so as to make it entertaining.

Thing is you can imagine this stuff. It makes you think twice about living in the suburbs or Jersey. Let’s remember though, it’s a show. And there aren’t that many serial killers….. out there…. That’s the one thing that got me about Inspector Morse. How many murders can you have in the small town of Oxford? As many as you need to have 8 seasons and a sequel series Inspector Lewis.

Here’s a blooper reel for all you Criminal Minds Addicts.
