REDSKINS PROVIDE COMIC RELIEF ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

November 15th, 2010 · No Comments · Social Commentary

I had just gone to the bathroom and Michael Vick had just engineered another touchdown drive to make the score 52 to Meaningless. After a brief number 1 (which I’ll take at 47), I looked back at the TV on my way to the kitchen to get a Devil Dog when the score now read 59 to whatever.

It certainly kept me going while I was studying for the state insurance exam. Donovan McNabb had just gotten a 78 million dollar contract from Dan “It’s Only Money” Schmeider. Let’s see that’s around $25 Million an interception thank you very much.

I thought up until tonight that the Dallas Cowboys were the biggest embarrassment football had seen since “The Ain’ts” but The Redskins couldn’t let that go.

In a test of two teams that are going nowhere as long as Tony Romo (where did he come from anyway?), and D Mac are at the helms in Dallas and DC respectively, the Redskins had an opportunity to outstink the Boys and seized it.

For all the hype, Conan’s still Conan so when a laugh was needed, all one need do was turn on Monday Night Football.

Something about this season has been very disappointing. In contrast to baseball which is full of young stars (just look at the rosters of this years World Series Teams San Francisco and Texas), the National Football League for the most part seems dull and tired.

No amount of gimmicks and ace reporting will help this league. Pending a massive personal purge, the only excitement I see is in The Jets, The Browns and The Raiders.

In the mesntime, this game should be turned into a Comedy Central sketch dtarring Dave Chappelle as Donovan McNabb and Louis CK as Dan Schneider.

Why let such an amazing performance go to waste.
