PEOPLE ARE LYING MORE AND MORE – BUT NOT ON FACEBOOK

Increase in Lying but not on Facebook

From Subway announcements to shady Internet marketers, financial institutions to websites offering free trials… The preponderance of lying as standard operating procedure is on the rise.

The economy and lack of money is the chief factor in all the lying that is being done. Interestingly I find that there is less lying on Facebook. Why?

Because people don’t want to be called out or outed by their family and friends. A simple white lie such as posting a profile pic that is five or more years old gets a pass. But people will call you out instantaneously if you say you we’re supposed to be somewhere and weren’t, or you accomplished something and didn’t.

While people may be less likely to agree with all of each other’s opinions, one thing you can count on from Facebook from your friends and family is that you are generally getting the truth.
