Lot's Wife and the Problem With Turning 50

Lot’s Wife and the Problem With Turning 50

It’s hard saying no to temptation and sin. (Drum flam). “No it’s not!” I can imagine many of you saying.

I think of the Bible story concerning Lot’s Wife. She was told to leave Sodom and not look back and was turned to Stone because she couldn’t resist.

What a great lesson for us all.

I’ve recently hit the big five-0 and while such an admission may work against me as recruiters search through my online life, it feels therapeutic to an extent to realize that with God strengthening us, gradually, the urge to look back will subside.

I think about how many great memories I have created along with my family and friends even in the last two months.

As I become, what I hope anyway, is a more complete person, my task is to not forget the past, but to live for today and look toward the future.
