GOING GREEN – THE NEW COLD WAR

February 4th, 2011 · 2 Comments · Social Commentary

I received an email from a friend recently. It went like this:

“EVERYONE PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED EMAIL!!!

IF YOU AGREE PLEASE CLICK THE LINKS BELOW TO SEND AN EMAIL TO CONGRESS AND THEN FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS!

THANK YOU.”

I definitely believe, that despite the dramatic winter weather the nation has experienced this year, global warming is an undeniable fact. The satellite images of the Polar regions on this planet are hard to deny. Not to be outdone by the “Do ABSOLUTELY Nothing on Climate” bill (see below), Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), chairman of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), the champion climate denier in Congress, are circulating a draft of their “Climate Science Denial” bill that would gut the Clean Air Act to exclude climate emissions and repeal the EPA scientific finding that climate emissions pose a threat to human health.

It is bad enough Congress failed to pass a strong climate and energy bill last year when it had the chance. Now, instead of working to unleash our clean energy future, polluter allies in Congress are more interested in unleashing our 19th century pro-polluter past.

Their strategy is clear – flood the zone with pro-polluter bills, try to wear us down, and hope something sticks.

2010 was also, according to NOAA, the wettest year on record. Climate models predict that warmer global temperatures will increase precipitation as warmer air produces more atmospheric moisture. I’ve written before about these past few years being almost prophetic in scope as pertains to climactic disasters. And now, once again, last month the east coast of Australia experienced what’s been called “Biblical” flooding – an area the size of Germany and France combined was ravaged by rising flood waters following torrential rains. Record flooding in Brazil last month took the lives of at least 665 people. And in Sri Lanka, the worst flooding there in years left up to 400,000 children without enough food.

Add NO MORE IMMIGRATION TO YOUR SILLY LIBERAL LIST.
Less people, less pollution.and we can keep the lifestyle Americans have worked hard for.
Older Americans in the south need Air conditioning but already sweat in 100 degree apartments because you people have caused utility bills to skyrocket. And your President tells us they will go higher.
How about the food we are burning to add Ethanol to our gasoline.(its worst) and the cost of our food.
    think what you have done.

    Hi JC,

Thanks for your input. I approve all comments but for the record, was a liberal, have a closet full of tee shirts, now I consider myself leaning conservative as you can tell by my posts on reality television and media in general.
