ARUBA AND NATALIE HOLLOWAY

November 11th, 2010 · No Comments · Social Commentary

Sitting on the train looking at a train car plastered with ads for Aruba “One Happy Island.”. “Madelyn’s Happyism.”. Waking up in the morning just isn’t hard here….”

That’s IF you wake up.

Maybe the slogan should be “How Soon We Forget.”

Does anyone remember Natalie Holloway? Because when I think of Aruba, Jamaica, or even Mexico, I think of excess partying… and murder. Again, maybe I’m watching too much Investigation Discovery but who’d want to go to Aruba after that?

Whether it’s Cablevision, Bank of America, Apple ((* for Macbook), or a host of other companies – we “vote” with our pocketbook. In this case, an American was murdered and the Aruban (sp?), authorities proved to be indifferent, inept, or both.

So why put dollars into the economy of Aruba if they don’t take protecting the lives of Americans seriously?

No ad campaign can make me forget Natalie Holloway.
