AMERICAN APPAREL’S KITCHEN SINK AD

Let’s call a spade a spade.  And I’m trying to be delicate here because “people who live in glass houses …..”  But I (try at least) to keep all my dirty laundry inside the house or take it to the laundromat which reminds me.

But came across this article on the middle-aged guy who (like Calvin Klein Co.) had the derivative idea to photograph young girls in…. well, how do you say this – acting slutty.

Profits aren’t the only thing going down, down, down at American Apparel.

I guess this ad about gets right to the, um point? THE KITCHEN SINK AD

Here are some more great moments from this year’s DIESEL Show for their BE STUPID campaign in Berlin Bit trendy going back to the 80’s but not sure I’m getting what they want our kids to grow up being. I don’t think that any of these “models” are particularly attractive either. I mean do you? What am I missing. When I was growing up with had Farrah Fawcett in a bikini which was like, over the top.

Lastly if you care to feel better about yourself because of someone else’s misfortune or failure – at least pick the right guy. Here he is. American Apparel’s Dov Charney. Great article in the Post. American Apparel Struggles To Stay Afloat. I’m sure Dov will have no problem finding plenty of silicon to do that.

Maybe it’s me. When I was in high school and early 20’s we played in bands, went out and all – and I still do at 46. But what I’m seeing in the media is different somehow. No one had to convince my girlfriends to spread their legs or be stupid. It just came naturally.
