MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA

May 29th, 2012 · No Comments · Family and Friends

Getting out of New York is the best. It’s important. Not just to see how the other half lives but to dream, get some country in and see the kids play together. To barbecue, to laugh, watch home movies and relive memories, talk about challenges and catch up on who’s doing what.

We watched Keith and Lauren Got Married, that hit movie produced and directed by Brian McLane and staring Keith Appell and Lauren DiBellis. Now there’s Shorena, Julianne, Madeleine, Nodari and Sofia to add to the clan.

We took a walk down a country lane and would up getting lost in the woods until we found our selves crossing a brook and on a country rood we recognized. Okay we weren’t really lost but it was fun to imagine we were. We had great wine, got some sun, played hide and seek and took the kids for ice cream.

There are so many times that I doubt myself and my parenting skills. Sometimes I feel like, am I doing this right, how could I be a dad after the crazy life I lead. But then I look at all the pictures from the last two or three years since I’ve been thrust into the role of “DAD” and somehow, plans become memories and you’re a hero.

With the summer coming up it’s the kind of fun we’re looking forward to over and over again.

Here’s our album from that weekend.
